STORYLINE: T D Dasan (Alex), a school going kid living in Palakkad writes a letter to his father, who has left him and his mother Chandrika (Shwetha Menon), many years back. The letter reaches the home where his dad Divakaran worked as a driver. But by the time the letter reaches the address, the house had new residents there, an ad filmmaker named Nandan (Biju Menon) and his daughter Ammu (Teena).
Though Nandan didn’t take the letter seriously, Ammu did and she replies to Dasan, as if it was his father who was writing it. Dasan has hopes in his life and Ammu is worried when Dasan says that he want to see his dad. Nandan, who learns about the incidents by now, decides to go to Palakkad, to meet Dasan.
REVIEW: With a modern style of filmmaking, T D Dasan Std VI B is a heart wrenching film which has been taken amazingly well. The superb acting by the two child actors, Alex and Teena, sets the mood of the film. Biju, Shwetha, Suresh Krishna and Valsala Menon, all are in good form. The other highlights include Arun Varma’s camera, Sreevalsan J Menon’s music and Vinod Sukumaran’s editing. Two big thumbs-up and a pat on the back for Mohan Raghavan, for making this superb film.
HIGHS: Honest effort
LOWS: The “too serious” climax!
Verdict: 4 out of 5 (EXCELLENT)
