Dir: K K Rajeev
Cast: Jayaram, Mamta Mohandas, Maithily, Manoj K Jayan
BASIC FACTS: Rajeev has directed some noted TV serials in the past and Njanum Ente Familyum marks his debut on the big screen. The film has been scripted by Cherian Kalpakavady.
THE PLOT: Dr. Dinanathan (Jayaram) is a highly respected and successful cardio thoracic surgeon. His wife, Dr. Priya (Mamta) is the managing director of the hospital, where he is working. The couple has two daughters. At the recommendation of his friend Moorthy (Jagathy Sreekumar), Dinanathan agrees to attend a heart patient named John Pailykkunnel (Manoj K Jayan). To his horror, the doc soon learns that John’s wife is his own ex flame, Sophiya (Maithily).
THE REVIEW: Genuinely amateurish, predictable and horrifyingly melodramatic… epithets can go on and on. But all that isn’t enough to explain this mushy drama. Made in an outdated format, the film drags on and on, mixing sequences from several films from the past.
Watch it at your own risk please!
