DID YOU KNOW? Saji Surendran is a successful director of TV serials and Ivar Vivahitharayal happens to be his debut venture. The golden oldie, Poomukha vathilkkal sneham vidarthunna… from Priyadarsan’s Rakkuyilin Ragasadassil, has been included in Ivar Vivahitharayal for a dream sequence. While the old song was composed by M. G. Radhakrishnan and was sung by Dr. K. J. Yesudas, the new version is being rendered by Vijay Yesudas and M. Jayachandran is the music director. The song has been picturised on Jayasurya and Navya Nair.
RAPID REVIEW: Ivar Vivahitharayal has a promising storyline for sure. Vivek (Jayasurya) decides to get married, soon after completing his MBA, to bring together his about-to-be-divorced parents (played by Siddique and Rekha). The girl he chooses, Kavya (Bhama), however turns out to be of a different nature. She thinks he is too immature. Kavya also dislikes his friendship with Tessy (Samvritha). Now things get tough for Vivek.
It’s a simple film, which can be enjoyed by the family. No big fights, no excessive melodrama and thrills here. It could have been even better with a tighter script. Saji has opted to go for a conventional way of filmmaking. Why can’t youngsters like him take some chances and go for a more stylished narration?
HIGHS: Suraj Venjarammood’s comedy.
LOWS: The length and the rather conventional pattern of storytelling.
Verdict: 2.5 out of 5 (Time-pass)
