Release date: June 25
Director: Blessy
Cast: Mohanlal, Suresh Menon, Bhoomika
DID YOU KNOW? Suresh Menon, Bollywood comedian, makes his debut in Malayalam with Bhramaram. But do you know that it was a role originally meant for Jayaram. He turned it down. The other classmate of Mohanlal is played by Muralikrishnan, Bharat Gopi’s son and the scenarist of Lal Jose’s mega flop Rasikan. Bhoomika plays Mohanlal’s wife in Bhramaram.
RAPID REVIEW: Unni (Suresh Menon) is a share broker, living with his wife (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) and daughter (Baby Nivedita) in an apartment. One day, a stranger comes to their home. He says that his name is Jose and he was a schoolmate of Unni. But later they realize that he is actually not Jose! He is there on a mission.
It’s a nice attempt, but the script could have been better. Watch out for Mohanlal’s breathtaking performance, but the supporting cast fails to deliver. Bhoomika, the kid who played Mohanlal’s daughter and even Suresh Menon (perhaps due to bad dubbing) are just amateurish in their performances. The visuals are absolutely amazing. An okay film indeed, that’s what Bhramaram is.
HIGHS: Mohanlal, Mohanlal, Mohanlal…
LOWS: Length and the rest of the cast.
Verdict: 3 out of 5 (Good)
